    As danger comes close to home, Helen faces something from her past; something she would just as soon ignore. Fellow sleuths, Nacho and Justin, with the help of a clumsy undercover agent, form a circle of protection. As the strange events continue, local police and firemen come to the rescue, and Helen and Ben's friends go way beyond the call of duty to protect them.
    It will take courage, skill and deductive reasoning to find a solution to the chaos, but what's the harm in having a little fun along the way? . . . barbecues, meetings at Pineapples, a hunt for a dead body, dinner out, a baby shower? . . . can't hurt!

Ten years as Research Director of The Lahaina Restoration Foundation, reading archival microfilms, and entering 3,000 pages of history into the computer; writing historical articles for the local newspaper; and speaking to community groups, has finally culminated in the completion of my first three mystery novels. Though contemporary and involving a diverse group of modern day friends, the ties to Hawaii's past history are prominent.
The books, are fast reads with lots of humor and action. Characters are defined by their dialog and actions rather than by descriptions. The stories center mostly in and around historic Lahaina town, occasionally in upcountry Maui, and at Hana during an archaeological dig. Local residents, and millions of people from all over the world, who visit Maui, will recognize these locations, along with the hotels, restaurants, and historic sites included in the context of the stories.
